Founded by Tamar, a proud native of Jamaica, Rustic Mountain Living was born from a deeply personal journey. As a young girl, Tamar dreamed of experiencing the “American Dream.” At 19, she migrated to the United States in search of opportunity — but soon found herself homeless and struggling to survive. Through determination and faith, she built her way up, eventually achieving everything she thought she wanted.

Yet, despite all her success, something was missing. The fast-paced lifestyle and material comforts couldn’t bring the peace or happiness her soul longed for. So, Tamar made a life-changing decision: she sold everything, returned home to Jamaica, and began a new chapter — one rooted in simplicity, nature, and faith.

Today, that vision has blossomed into Rustic Mountain Living, an organic homestead retreat nestled in the heart of Jamaica’s mountains. Here, guests are invited to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the true meaning of abundance — not through possessions, but through peace, gratitude, and living close to the earth.

At our retreat, we grow what we eat, live in harmony with the land, and embrace the healing power of nature. This way of life brings freedom, health, and happiness. It opens the heart to God, offering a reminder that you never have to take on this world alone.
